The Trainers

Head Trainer: Ashley Clayton

With over 20 years of experience, Ashley is deeply committed to putting the welfare of every horse above all else. Her approach combines a keen eye for detail, carefully tailored training programs, and a strong foundation of knowledge that she brings to each horse and rider at All Night Stable.

As a junior rider, Ashley had the privilege of working alongside one of the top Grand Prix riders in the Southeast. She competed successfully in the children’s hunter and equitation divisions until age 16, when she discovered her true passion for show jumping—jumping high and racing against the clock. While jumping remains her greatest love, Ashley also values the importance of correct flatwork and pursued dressage alongside her jumping career. Some of her fondest memories from college include interning with Olympic trainer Anne Gribbons at Knoll Dressage, where she learned what it takes to care for and prepare horses at the highest level of the sport. She also spent time at a top breeding farm in Colorado, starting and developing young horses with exceptional bloodlines. Ashley’s passion for riding and horsemanship is truly all-encompassing. From foxhunting through the countryside of Millbrook to prepping young hunters for Saugerties and managing stallions for breeding, she’s embraced every opportunity to learn and grow within the industry—both in and out of the arena.

Throughout her career, Ashley has remained grounded in the values of hard work, dedication, and true horsemanship. At All Night Stable, she’s proud to share those values with every student, helping riders grow in skill, confidence, and respect for the horses who make it all possible.

Trainer: Christine Castano

For nearly 50 years, her passion for horses has driven her career. It started with her 1st pony, Fury, at the age of 5 and from that moment she was hooked. Now, she gets to practice horsemanship for a living, fostering a deep understanding between students and horses by focusing on the nuances of communication and biomechanics. Over 30 years in the equestrian industry, she excels at engaging students' interests and creating a systematic and stimulating learning environment. Her expertise lies in demonstrating how a horse's posture, balance, and movements are influenced by a rider's technique and timing of the aids. Implementing a discussion with your horse is how deep connections are formed. Her background is dressage based with a love for equitation and jumpers. She has ridden and shown with national talent and trained with  international competitors.

Your achievements in riding are her priority. She believes progress is achieved through understanding the language of the horse and executing a conversation. She teaches riders to speak this language while considering factors such as conformation, movement, balance, fitness, rideability, goals, scope, and heart. Perfection evolves through the connection established between horse and rider as they learn to fully comprehend one another.
